Here at Painted Spot Farm we are breeding QUALITY AMERICAN PAINT HORSES. We are constantly striving to find that perfect mare to stallion cross, one that will produce the foal with the best conformation and disposition. Our breeding program is proof that you can produce both a horse that can halter and ride. Our Stallion COOS CONTROL is a Sorrel Overo Stallion. Coos Control, a.k.a. Clint, has his R.O.M. in halter, Points in western Pleasure, Hunter under Saddle, Hunter Hack and Barrel Racing. If your mare could choose she'd pick the "Coos" -- Coos Control!
Please look through our site and you will see that our breeding program is really working. On our Accomplishment's page you can find out about all our "COOS" horses, those that are still at home, and those that have gone on to do their new owners, and us, so proud. So if you have a "COOS" horse remember that they were my "COOS" babies first, and I would love to hear all your news and share it with everyone.
Please visit our For Sale page as we are revamping things around the farm and have some great horses for sale. Talking about revamping, it almost feels like we have moved. Our house has a new entrance which I really needed. A new screened in deck and an open deck, so I can have my morning coffee looking out at all the horses (thinking boy do I have a lot to do today). We also have new windows and new siding.
As always, I can never do things by myself. My thank-you's go to My Husband Larry a.k.a. Luke. Even though he complains about the time I spend on my horses (and not him), he always seems to find the time to check the truck and trailer out before it goes on the road, or bring me those extra hay bales I forgot about, or fix the endless broken boards that the horses break; and the list goes on and on.
Next on my list is, of course our friends, Marcel and Elma Rupert and family. Thank-you to them for everything! For doing my chores in minus 30 (when we are in BC skiing), hauling horses or kids somewhere, holding horses, stitching horses -- the list is endless.
Thank-you to all of my APHC show friends for making the show season fun and friendly. Thanks to Todd Bailey for lending a hand or ear when needed. And lastly thanks to my mom and dad, Betty and Don Kilpatrick for being who they are, and for letting me show QH when I was young; and for instilling the respect and admiration towards this truly beautiful, and ever wondrous equine animal, which so many of us call our friends.
I can always take a break to talk horses, so stop by for a coffee and take a look at our Painted Spot herd. We are located located approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes from Red Deer or about 1 hour from Calgary.
To reach us you need to travel on highway number 9 to Drumheller, then turn and go 6 km north on Sharples Road. Check out the MAP for directions.
